Learn about CBD and CBD Hemp Flower

What is CBD?

Short for Cannabidiol, CBD is a non-intoxicating member of the phyto cannabinoid family of chemical compounds derived from the cannabis plant.

Phyto-Cannabinoids can be found in hops, pine needles and hemp - not exclusive to cannabis. Our body makes cannabinoids called endocannabinoids that act within the endocannabinoid system. At least 100 cannabinoids have been isolated from cannabis, the most common being Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabigerol (CBG) and TetrahydroCannabinol (THC).

Is Hemp Legal?

Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in all 50 states. The government classifies hemp as any plant of the cannabis family that contains less than 0.3% THC.  The hemp flower and CBD we sell is all under the .3% Delta 9 THC limit. Please check your local and state laws to insure they are not in conflict with Federal law. Indiana was sued and lost in 2019 for illegally banning possession of smokable hemp, which should force the door open in other restrictive states.

How Do I Use the Flowers?

You can consume hemp flower in many ways. One favorite way is to grind up 1 tea spoon worth of flower and place it into a reusable tea infuser and mix it with your favorite coffee or tea. Use a high energy strain for daytime and a relaxation strain for nighttime enjoyment.  I personally just put some in my water bottle.

If your feeling like a snack?  Why not bake it into some bread, or pastries, or grind it and mix it with your meat dishes?  Frosted Lime, tacos! You can also eat the flower whole and wash it down with your favorite beverage.  Many users like to smoke hemp flowers in many different ways to enjoy the tastes and smells offered by the plant.

Will I Get High If I Smoke Hemp?

Hempy Longstocking brand hemp has been tested at harvest and conforms to the legal limit of .3%  Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis.  While hemp is believed to be completely non psychoactive, it can effect people in different ways based on physiology, height, weight, age or many other factors. Hemp flower can also become more potent over time as it dries or through a process called Decarboxilation.  For this reason we cannot absolutely guarantee that you will not experience any euphoria even though it is highly unlikely due to extremely low THC levels.

Where Does Your Hemp Come From?

Our seed to sale hemp is grown outdoors in natural sunlight, planted in nitrate rich,  and toxin free Kentucky soil. We believe in being good stewards of our earth. Remarkably these growing practices show a lower carbon footprint than its indoor counterparts.  Our hemp has been the #1 brand in Kentucky two years in a row.

Will I Fail A Drug Test If I Use Your Products?

Our products contain less than .3% THC.  This  is a very small amount  however, because of the fat-soluble nature of THC and other cannabinoids found in hemp oil,  accumulation and excretion of hemp oil byproducts can result in a positive drug test. If you are concerned with passing a drug test, we do not recommend using any products other than those specifically labeled THC free.

Can I Fly With CBD?

As of May 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has updated its policy to allow hemp-derived CBD products on domestic flights.

What Dosage Should I Take?

For all of our ingestible products, we recommend starting with a low dose of 10-15mg and slowly increasing until you reach the desired result.

Why dont you have as many strains as the other guys?

We believe in quality over quantity, and we only select the best strains that we feel work best to ease your suffering and give you quality of life. Many of the strains on the market offer similar health benefits and just have different flavor profiles or even smells. So in order to make it simple for you, we keep the number of strains we offer online to a limited number that can still address most health issues.
