Short for Cannabidiol, CBD is a non-intoxicating member of the phyto cannabinoid family of chemical compounds derived from the cannabis plant.
Phyto-Cannabinoids can be found in hops, pine needles and hemp - not exclusive to cannabis. Our body makes cannabinoids called endocannabinoids that act within the endocannabinoid system. At least 100 cannabinoids have been isolated from cannabis, the most common being Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabigerol (CBG) and TetrahydroCannabinol (THC).
The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, signed into law by President Donald Trump on Dec. 20, 2018, removed hemp from the federal list of controlled substances and redefined the plant as an agricultural commodity. It also says states can't pass laws that interfere with the right to transport lawfully produced hemp in interstate commerce. Hemp-derived CBD is federally legal in all 50 states.
The government classifies hemp as any plant of the cannabis family that contains less than 0.3% Delta 9 THC. The hemp flower and CBD we sell meets this .3% Delta 9 THC limit. Please check your local and state laws to insure they are not in conflict with Federal law .
You can consume hemp flower in many ways. One favorite way is to grind up 1 tea spoon worth of flower and place it into a reusable tea infuser and mix it with your favorite coffee or tea. Use a high energy strain for daytime and a relaxation strain for nighttime enjoyment. I personally just put some in my water bottle and let it leech into my water.
If your feeling like a snack? Why not bake it into some bread, or pastries, or grind it and mix it with your meat dishes? Frosted Lime, tacos! You can also eat the flower whole and wash it down with your favorite beverage. Many users like to smoke hemp flowers in many different ways to enjoy the tastes and smells offered by the plant.
Hempy Longstocking brand hemp has been tested at harvest and conforms to the legal limit of .3% Delta 9 THC on a dry weight basis. While hemp is believed to be completely non psychoactive, it can effect people in different ways based on physiology, height, weight, age or many other factors. Hemp flower can also become more potent over time as it dries or through a process called Decarboxilation.
For this reason we cannot guarantee that you will not experience any euphoria when consuming CBD flower. Because Hemp flower contains such low levels of THC, any euphoria experienced would not be comparable to a psychoactive response such as would be triggered by high THC plants such as Marijuana.
Our hemp is carefully and thoughtfully sourced from sustainable farms who share our passion for wellness. We hand select the perfect strains we believe will benefit our customers most. Our team likes to ensure these strains are organically grown in converted tobacco fields and animal pastures with sustainable practices from the top genetic available. We require that these seeds are planted in nitrate rich and toxin free Zone 5-7 soil in Kentucky and Tennessee.
Our products meet the Federal legal limits and contain less than .3% THC. This is a very small amount however, because of the fat-soluble nature of THC and other cannabinoids found in hemp oil, accumulation and excretion of hemp oil byproducts can result in a positive drug test. If you are concerned with passing a drug test, we do not recommend using any products other than those specifically labeled THC free.
As of May 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has updated its policy to allow hemp-derived CBD products on domestic flights.
For all of our ingestible products, we recommend starting with a low dose of 10-15mg and slowly increasing until you reach the desired result.
We believe that your wellness is only your business, so all products are discreetly packaged and shipped to your door from Old World Wellness LLC. The only way the neighbors will know you buy Hemp, is if you tell them.
If you are concerned about using CBD or interactions it may cause with existing medications we urge you to consult your physician before using any CBD products. You can also find more information on the FDA's website about using CBD products.
